Spruce up the Playroom

This was it. This little box of an area was going to be our playroom. I couldn't imagine how we would make this tiny, choppy space work with growing toddlers.
There was this random wood burning stove plopped right in the middle of an already tiny room and to gate it for the boys would be pointless and make the area even smaller. It made no sense and that thing was good as gone.
It needed to function as a dining room/playroom/entertaining space/overflow from outdoor playing.. . . ok game on we accepted the challenge.
We made it work for us for two years even if it wasn't the best solution quite yet, we were make strides with storage and the bench, rearranging as needed, removed the stove and envisioning how to best utilize the space.

Again, I would love to paint but as you homeowners know, you can't tackle every project all at once and with toddlers in a house for only two years, we had to make the best of it.
But here's a little TIP . . .if you're going to put fresh carpet in then put it in right away and don't wait two years until you decide to sell your house. And if you can, use a remnant. It's a great money-saver.

Finished room. . . . for now. Always with more room for improvement.
