Newtown, CT Massacre

Our hearts are heavy with yet another tragic shooting. It seems to have been so random; the workplace, movie theater, schools and now devastatingly an Elementary school. We question and wonder why, we try to wrap our minds around how someone would do this, we try to make sense of the senseless. Little precious children, God's little treasures, taken from this world.

The media is covering it on every news station, talk shows are bringing in experts to discuss it, your average joe has even recognized the world has taken a drastic turn for the worst in the last 20 years. I wouldn't know as I'm 27 years old, but I am definitely seeing the tragedies happening closer together in the last few years. I will not give any credit to the killer, as part of the reason these tragedies happen are because of all the credit they receive through media and talk among neighbors. America is the only country giving attention to the killers and vulnerable people watching see the glory the killers receive. The cycle continues.

The silence in my apartment has a new feel of creepy to it, but you know what, this was all predicted to happen in the end times. The world is shocked, but as a Christian, I see satan at work, working overtime to bring collapse to this nation, to the family and to the credit of Christ. Satan won't win in the end, he knows his time is running out. This is the time for Christians to stand up, not the time to live frozen in fear. The world is broken, there are people in the world who need a Savior, to find hope of a better future. The killers in these tragedies need to know about Jesus Christ and find a way to feel hopeful again, and find meaning and purpose in their life again. Can you imagine the pain Jesus felt when he cried tears of blood for the pain of the world? It's our job to spread that hope, bringing the good news to those in pain.

The truth is this world has been running rampant with sin, shooting each other, hurting each other and now legalizing certain sins. God isn't happy with this country. We have turned our back on Him and He could've destroyed us long ago as He destroyed countries in the Old Testament who turned their backs on Him. He is the same God of the Old Testament as He is today, but the difference is, He sent Jesus to save us from being destroyed. And today there are passionate Christians who are praying hard, raising up their voices to heaven for God to cool His wrath and show mercy on us. God is hearing our prayers.... for now. But one day soon, God's patience will run out.

God is testing our faith- will we melt under pressure? Will we turn our back on Him? Or will our faith be refined through the fire?

Let's remember in this Christmas season and this time of great tragedy to spread hope and love to those in need, in pain and in suffering, to go into the world spreading the good news and hope of Christ.
