Monday Morning Challenge
I've been reading through the Book of Job and today as I was reading the back and forth debate with Job and his three friends, I realize I can relate with Job. I am FAR from the sufferings he endured but here is a man of God, a man of integrity, a man God calls his servant and he is suffering trials of all kinds. Job pleads with God to make it all stop, he gets annoyed with his three friends and in the end, God puts Job in his place of humility.
Sometimes I need to be put in my place too. I think we can all relate with that. When we're going through trials and they make NO SENSE at all, we argue with God, we plead with God, why oh why God is all this happening? Then God says in Job 40:1-3, “Do you still want to argue with the Almighty?
You are God’s critic, but do you have the answers?”
You are God’s critic, but do you have the answers?”
Job responds, “I am nothing—how could I ever find the answers?
I will cover my mouth with my hand.
I have said too much already.
I have nothing more to say.”
I will cover my mouth with my hand.
I have said too much already.
I have nothing more to say.”
Let's learn from Job and trust God is working behind the scenes. We are mere humans and God is the Great Almighty, none can compare. God shuts the mouths of lions and splits the seas. He heals the blind and raises dead to life. The God of the Old Testament is the same God as today, and forever. He is quiet sometimes and when he speaks, people tremble in fear.
I serve a Great God who showed his wrath in the Old Testament and showed his mercy in the New Testament. I take this day to rest in the truth of Scripture and the power of the Almighty God. He has a great plan for this big world and though we fight battles and face trials, there will be a day when "every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. " Romans 14:11
