I have been desperately needing a place to slow down and rest and be with Jesus and be inspired.
Do you ever feel like your head could explode with a raging to-do list that never gets done?
Then I was out walking the boys and came across this free desk from a very sweet couple who actually became our new friends, and it was like God was saying to me, "Heidi I want you to rest here".
Our feet can so easily start racing the second they hit the floor in the morning when that baby alarm faithfully wakes us up at 7:24am and they don't stop racing until the whirlwind of baths and bed is complete.
I have determined to sit at my Blue Desk during naptime every day and just let God do with me what He wants for those 2 hours. And before you chime in, I can hear you saying you don't have 2 hours, your kids don't take naps, you're so tired, you have work to do. I get it. I have 2 boys 2 and under, I run a business, I'm a Home Executive (you like that? Use it!) and I'm a fully devoted wife, all important things that require lots of precious time.
But what I've discovered MORE PRECIOUS than my time is making time to be quiet with Jesus. Everything else will get done sweet friend. Jesus wants you. He wants your WHOLE heart.
Sometimes it's just staring out the window sipping on a sprite, sometimes it's designing a wrap in the Nail Art Studio, sometimes it's being committed to running my Jamberry parties, sometimes it's just being quiet.and reading the Word. Whatever it is that day, it's QUIET and Jesus needs us to still our anxious hearts and racing feet and busy minds and breathe in deep.
Nothing will get accomplished worth accomplishing if we don't make time for Jesus first.
You'll be amazed how much you can get done in a day when you determine to commit quiet time to Jesus. It's such a beautiful time of peace and when we women are at peace, everyone around us is so much happier.
And then I hear the pitter patter of 2 year old feet and I'm excited to lift him on my lap and ready to face the afternoon.
"Be STILL and know I am God." Psalm 46:10
I was reading my She Reads Truth devotional this morning and it was saying we need proclaim from the bottom of our weakness that we need Jesus and none of our earthly efforts compares to His Kingdom that lasts forever.
STILL your heart and listen for a minute.
