(mug says 'love' in Russian)
I heard that still, small voice tell me to 'be interested in the globe'.
Be interested in the globe.
What does it mean to be interested in the globe?
How?
And then I heard 'love the globe'.
Young girls are being sex trafficked in Russia.
Muslims are being deceived in Jordan.
Children are starving in South Africa.
Orphans are filling up schools in India.
Shanty towns filled with homes built from garbage in Mexico.
Prostitution is happening on the street corners in Canada.
People are spiritually deprived in Europe.
Babies are being killed by the millions in America.
Women are overdosing on prescription drugs in Minnesota.
Why is all this happening around the world?
I read an article about a woman who aborted her twin baby girls at 20 weeks.
This literally ripped my heart in two and shattered into pieces.
At 20 weeks, I was sitting on the ultrasound bed watching my little boy stick his tongue out at us. He had a strong heartbeat, he was squirrling around, he was so precious. I'm not angry at this woman for aborting her little girls; I'm angry with the evil in the world, I'm angry with satan who brought evil into this world. This woman must have been so tormented, so confused and torn, to have to face herself and go through with such a heart wrenching procedure. I don't begin to imagine the pain she went through, but I can imagine the torment she must have faced, and continues to face on the other side.
You ask again why is all this happening around the world?
I'll tell you.
It's happening because we are in a battle not of this world. satan wants to steal our joy, kill our dreams, destroy our hope (John10:10a). The Bible says it's a spiritual battle of angels and demons, but the Bible also says that nothing, not death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, can separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8:38)
I can't fight the battles in India or Russia or Jordan, but I can fight them here, where I live. I can tell the woman who felt she needed to abort her twin girls that none of the anger, nor torment, nor confusion she felt, can separate her from the love of God.
God sent His son Jesus so we might have abundant life (John 10:10b)
God's heart is for the globe.
His heart breaks for all the pain, starvation and suffering.
He hates the evil that satan uses to steal, kill and destroy people.
He hears the cries of every baby being aborted.
And He loves the people around the globe.
As a Christ follower, I am to reflect that love to those people in pain.
If you call yourself a Christ follower, you are to reflect that love too.
Maybe your neighbor is contemplating suicide.
Maybe your co-worker secretly pops too many pills on her break.
Maybe your friend is about to abort her baby.
Are you paying attention to the people around you?
What are we going to do to fight these battles we face each day?
It's overwhelming I know (believe me!). I'm tempted most days to sit in the middle and do nothing. But what can we do without travelling to other side of the world?
For starters, I'm going to call a pregnancy center and see if I can love one girl who may be facing the most painful decision of her life.
My lovely friend, will you keep me accountable to action?
Asher at 20 weeks sticking his tongue out.
If I was the woman who aborted her baby, I wouldn't have this little bundle of joy still sticking his little tongue out today.

And I say this to help you see we have to push through those destructive thoughts of 'pro-choice' and recognize it's a baby being formed, an actual baby, a little blessing. We have to fight this battle and love the women in our lives.
