Spring always comes.
Today has been one of those days my feet seem to have bricks tied to them so I read in Isaiah 41: 10 'Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.'
When things seem to make NO SENSE and your situation of life seems pointless, I'm learning the dreaded lesson of WAITING .....waiting patiently, resting in God, seeking peace. True contentment in this culture is very difficult to find but it's what God asks us to pursue. I don't exactly "love" staying home with nothing to do at times or not having people who need me or having a specific purpose to get up for, I think we all face those feelings at one time or another, but I do love the God who gave me life and if He isn't giving me any specific direction right now then.... waiting I will do.
Nothing seems to happen overnight anyway. Jonah had a call on his life to go to Ninevah but nothing was going to happen, miracles weren't going to happen until he arrived. And it took 600 miles of walking to get there. Have you ever walked 600 miles? I can imagine it taking months. He didn't arrive in Ninevah overnight but he did arrive.... eventually.
Beauty in my day.... today! Enjoy signs of Spring, smell the pretty pink flowers, enjoy eating an apple down by the river and listening to the birds preparing their nests for their chicklets.
I may be discouraged, I may feel impatient or even confused why all this waiting but Isaiah says DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED FOR I AM YOUR GOD. That should be enough. It is enough. I serve a big God who sent His son to redeem me on the cross, to restore my relationship with the Father. I serve a God who wants me to enjoy His beauty while I wait on Him. I will wait. I will continue to purse what God the Father wants me to learn in each day.
I hope this encourages you like it does me today. Waiting is only a season and I happen to be in that season, but just like Spring, the next season of life always comes.
